Place frozen Vegetables California in a saucepan and cover with water. Place on stove top and bring to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes. Drain. In a large skillet, sauté onions in 3 tablespoons butter. Add cooked vegetables, soup, sour cream, and 1 cup croutons to onions, mixing well. Pour mixture into a greased, 2-quart casserole dish. In a saucepan, coat remaining 1/2 cups croutons with remaining 1 tablespoon butter. Top vegetable mixture with coated croutons. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
