Serves 6

  • 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 3 cups Pictsweet frozen Chopped Spinach
  • 1/2 cup Pictsweet frozen Chopped Onions
  • 1/4 butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups provolone cheese, grated


Place frozen spinach in saucepan and cover with water. Bring to boil and boil for 3 minutes. Drain. Put into blender; blend thoroughly. Brown onion in butter; stir in flour. Cook until bubbly; slowly add milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add spinach, salt and black pepper. Let stand for at least 15 minutes. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of provolone cheese on top before serving.
