An unusual but tasty appetizer for the next party. Purple Hull Peas or Crowder Peas also work well in this dip.

Serves 10

  • 4 cups Pictsweet frozen Blackeye Peas
  • 1 cup Pictsweet frozen Chopped Onions
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 can (14 oz.) artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 pkg. buttermilk ranch powdered dressing mix
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese


Cook blackeye peas according to package directions and drain. Sauté onion in the butter. Mix all ingredients together. Put in an ovenproof dish and bake for 30 minute at 350 degrees. Serve with corn chips or crackers.
