Serves 6

  • 3 cups Pictsweet frozen Purple Hull Peas
  • 1/2 cup Pictsweet frozen Chopped Onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup seeded and chopped jalapeño pepper
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar


Place frozen purple hull peas and chopped onions in a saucepan and cover with water. Place on stove top and bring to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 40 minutes. Drain. Add salt, pepper, jalapeño pepper and vinegar. Mix well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes. Drain and serve.
