Tangy Greens

Lemon juice gives the tang to this popular southern vegetable.


Serves 6

  • 5 cups Pictsweet frozen Turnip Greens with Diced Turnips
  • 1/4 cup Pictsweet frozen Chopped Onions
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


Place frozen greens in a saucepan and cover with water. Place on stove top and bring to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 25 minutes or until tender. In a skillet, sauté onions in butter. Add cooked onions, lemon juice, sugar and salt to cooked greens. Cool mixture 15 minutes.
